This week we are raising awareness about oral (mouth) cancer.

One of the biggest risk factors for developing mouth cancer is smoking. At Dr. Huiying Chen Dental Care, we strongly advise our patients to partner with their dentists and healthcare providers in making a smoking cessation plan. We recognize this is a big challenge, but know that the results are so worth it for you and those you love.

This September we are celebrating National Gum Care Month!

Why is gum care so important?

Gums 1For many people, they may not realize that their poor dental hygiene habits can lead to gum diseases, which ranges from the milder gingivitis to severe symptoms of periodontitis. When the swelling and bleeding of gingivitis is left untreated, it can lead to irreversible loss of both bone and tissue.

So give your gums some “love” everyday by good brushing and flossing.
